Re: Pope Leo: God ‘does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war’

In each of those cases, Stella, God listened. His answers might not have been what the prayer requested - perhaps. You want to discuss the value (or righteousness?) or the prayers?

Islam is clearly an abomination. Authoritarian control over an entire people, also an abomination.

Re: That's Modalism, Patrick!

As someone asked on the Interweb a couple of days ago: "I've always seen The Trinity as Infinity divided by 3, and that’s what I've told people because dividing infinity by 3 just gives you infinity 3 times. Let me know what y'all think?" Uhhh, infinity 3 times is just infinity. :-) I can...

Catholic Church in Germany

I'm often somewhat ignorant of details of the Church elsewhere, even though I try to stay at least casually informed. This article made me wonder about the Catholic Church in Germany. It's a 5-10 minute read so only bother is you are bored. Curious people's thoughts, both about the accuracy of the a...

Re: Florida Bishops' Appeal in Illegal Immigration Issue

Seeking to overturn the legal status quo has a long tradition not just in the Christian Church but also for the Jews and Greek and Roman pagan religious before them. Ie. Calling for freeing of slaves, freeing of prisoners and reductions of punishment, debt forgiveness, protection for places of sanc...

Re: Pope Leo Presses Trump to Not Use Military Against Venezuela’s Maduro

I'd be surprised if it came to military directly against Maduro. Unfortunately, the general Venezuelan doesn't have many options to rise up - hopefully that will change somehow and that country might be restored to something like its former successful self. In the meantime, I'm plenty content with t...

law breakers must be dealt with appropriately. If you are in the country illegally, you need to get out (or be removed). Feel free to try to come back legally. Surely this isn't difficult for you to understand?!?
