Re: A possible contradiction - goodness of creation
The supernatural destiny of human beings is not part of human nature. It's a gratuitous gift. If we grant the premise (which I think is correct) that the soul is naturally immortal, still God did not have to admit the deceased to Heaven. He could have granted them a simple earthly paradise, or some...

Re: Torpedo Bats
Bats have changed repeatedly over the years. The wood used has changed; it used to be hickory, then ash, and now they're mostly maple. The size and shape has changed too.

Re: This is controversial, but it needs to be said
All that said most of the "rose" vestments you will see in the USA on Laetare Sunday or Gaudete Sunday can definitely be described as pink. I have unquestionably pink vestments at one church and rosier ones at the other two. The Mount got an extremely pepto set while I was there. Extremely.

Because He felt like it? We don't know God's whole plan.
This is the same answer I have for the question: "Why did God create all those galaxies? Doesn't that make religion false?" I don't know what all plans God has going.

Re: Thw Confiteir
There are three options for the Penitential Rite, and the Confiteor is only one of them. I use it almost all the time, but that's because I'm a cranky old stick-in-the-mud.

Re: Music director question
Here's how I'd sum up my choices: I would rather have a non-Catholic musical director with good taste who is open to direction than a Catholic director who is addicted to bad music and won't change.

It would be preferable, but if a candidate is otherwise well-qualified and is willing to listen to guidance as needed, it wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me.

Bishop-elect is the correct term. Remember that "elect" means "choose."
