There is that note where DQ sees and believes because he must. His fantastical world is the only place left for him. There is a bravery in that. At least that's what I gleaned from the movie. "But maddest of all to see the world as it is and not as it ought to be." Or something like that.

I want to push back a little harder. I agree that, sadly, there are many cases where the woman makes a free choice to abort. But .... You probably know that canon law has a so-called "automatic excommunication" for a completed abortion. I say "so-called" because in fact there are...
