My gut feel is that, as long as killing of demonstrators continues, the security apparatus is functioning.

Re: The archbishop of the U.S. military services says US troops could refuse Greenland orders
It seems that Trump announced a framework for resolution of the Greenland issue. It also seems that nobody else is aware of a framework for resolution. Trump is never boring.

Re: WELS Lutheran High School student boom
Our city has similar issues. Enrollment decline and closures have been the trend for decades. Let me echo two points. First, anecdotal comments inform me that many Catholic families have decided that tuition is too expensive. A welfare mentality generates a belief that the government should provide ...

Re: The archbishop of the U.S. military services says US troops could refuse Greenland orders
not a good idea What, specifically, is not a good idea? I often wonder now much coming from various sources, including ecclesiastical, is a form of virtue signaling. Pronouncements of this sort have no practical impact, since there won't be a military action against Greenland. Trump, today, stated ...

Re: Hail Mary Translation in Spanish
“Dios te salve, María” is apparently the common, tradi...

Re: Map/ who is whooping it up out there.?
I'm retired. I replied with a massive, magnificent post which disappeared into the ether. I'm not gonna redo it. I worked in a logistics planning office supporting several laboratories. Generally in the space and energy worlds. Our job was to address logistics issues in the design and conduct of exp...

Re: Map/ who is whooping it up out there.?
I'm agreeing even more. I once sat in a room where the results of a series of experiments were being discussed. They were discussed preparatory to presenting them to the government agency which had funded the research. The results were lass than dismal. Literally, repeat, literally, a coin toss was ...

Re: Prayer Books
I'm not familiar with the book you mention. I know many people like The Pieta aka Little Blue prayer book. Personally, I like the Laudate app. Not the Pieta either. I do have the Laudate app -- I find it comprehensive. And also a firehose that is difficult to use in many sections. HST, I found it i...

Re: Map/ who is whooping it up out there.?
Assuming a normal distribution and without sufficient data and making all sorts of assumptions, two of which are that you were the only person who spends nothing and only one person spends $1610, I'm guesstimating that the range of spending for all NYrs is between $0-$1610. Not very useful, eh? OTOH...
