I know this is a cheap shot, but ...
Because he is politically progressive and is thus able to hold and espouse two simultaneously contradictory and mutually exclusively positions ... and have those positions enthusiastically accepted by the like minded.
I can only repeat my position that nobody should be allowed to vote unless they understand the content of Econ 101, Econ 102, and Stat 101.
