1. Their clothing needed to be a bit more colorful.

2. The group was not impressive. Could have been the recording, but their sound, especially, the lead wasn't top notch.

IMO, not much better. The lead singer is not impressive, but the chorus, if not actually good, is improved. However, in the general genre, consider this snippet:
