None of the things you mentioned had anything to do with that. The selection is based on past performance not what future performance might be.

I said that the problem is uneven schedules, teams with a weak schedule are favored and get a high ranking because they are "undefeated" while much better teams with a much tougher schedule are never considered because they finish 7-4 or 6-5 even though they are 10 times better than the undefeated team in the top 10. Until there is a way to adjust for strength of schedule, the rankings are largely meaningless.

It's not perfect but rankings do take strength of schedule into account
