Homily Wednesday, August 26

2 Thessalonians 3:6-10, 16-18
"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you."

We are filled with grace. Let us remain in God's love.

Matthew 23:27-32
"On the outside you appear righteous."

As soon as we stray from God's love, the danger is to become someone else.

Biblical texts: NAB-RE
Normand Thomas.

1 Corinthians 1:1-9
"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."

Let us receive it.

Matthew 24:42-51
"Stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come."

Giving ourselves a little time each day, just to reconnect with the present moment and with inner joy, allows us to return to our relationship (religion) with the Lord.

Homily Sunday, August 30, 2026

Jeremiah 20:7-9
“I say I will not mention God, I will no longer speak in his name.”

This is a mistake, especially since we often think about what we reject. Welcoming God’s love is better. Let us not confuse people with God.

Romans 12:1-2
“Be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”

What are our thoughts? Let us make peace with our memories, and we will be more present with God.

Matthew 16:21-27
Peter to Jesus: “God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you.”

We cannot block God’s love. Let us move forward in peace with God.

Biblical texts: NAB-RE
Normand Thomas.

1 Corinthians 2:1-5

Do not let your faith rest on the faith of Paul, but on the love of the Trinity.

Luke 4:16-30

The Holy Spirit is Good News; this Good News is Jesus, and it is for humanity, for every person.

Homily Tuesday, September 1, 2026

1 Corinthians 2:10b-16
“Who knows what pertains to a person except the spirit of the person that is within?”

God’s love is known to God.

Luke 4:31-37
“Jesus rebuked an unclean spirit, saying, ‘Be quiet! Come out of him!’”

In peace, in silence, evil cannot hold. Jesus’ exclamation, “Be quiet!” is an invitation to the tormented person to receive peace within. Healing silence is the peace of the Holy Spirit.

Biblical texts: NAB-RE
Normand Thomas.

Homily Wednesday, September 2, 2026

1 Corinthians 3:1-9
"I belong to Paul," "I belong to Apollos."

We belong to no one. God loves us; let us allow God to love us.

Luke 4:38-44

"To the other towns also I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God."

The Good News is joy and peace. Let us allow people to discover these within themselves.

Biblical texts: NAB-RE
Normand Thomas.

Homily Thursday, September 3, 2026

1 Corinthians 3:18-23
"You belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God."

Let us remain in the joy of God's heart.

Luke 5:1-11
"They left everything and followed Jesus."

Letting go of what is unnecessary is already being with Jesus.

Biblical texts: NAB-RE
Normand Thomas.
