Weapon Control

Headline:

At least 11 people hospitalized after Michigan Walmart stabbing ...

I am so glad that the assailant didn't have a gun. Just think -- people might have gotten hurt. And, I'm double thankful that none of the Walmart shoppers had a gun ... they might have injured the assailant.

Gun-related deaths in USA 12.09 deaths per 100,000 people.
For Australia, the rate is 0.90 per 100,000 people where private gun ownership is largely banned.

Consider the recent surge of using cars and trucks as weapons, but driving them directly into crowds and killing people. We need to license people to drive those things, and we need to deny a license to those with mental illness or who have shown a history of emotional instability. Wait, we already do that.

These attacks, which are becoming more and more frequent, just go to show that if you take away all the weapons, it will do nothing to prevent people with malicious intent from committing all the murders they desire to commit; they will find a way.

And isn't Australia the country with the most extreme COVID restrictions outside of North Korea and China? Why, yes, it was. It is almost as if disarming the population was just part of a plan to establish fascism. Funny that always seems to be the case.

He was in fact stopped by civilian with a gun

There are no longer any covid restrictions.
It was a right wing government that bought in the gun restrictions.
"Fascism" LOL . Once you use that word you have shown ignorance and lost the argument.

Isn't Fascism generally used as a right-wing ideology? Let's try the ol' reliable Google search. . . [hums a couple of notes waiting for the results] Ah, here we go. According to the AI Overview:

"Fascism is generally considered a right-wing ideology. While some interpretations and historical analyses have placed it on the left, the dominant view among scholars and historians positions fascism on the far-right. This is due to its social conservatism, authoritarianism, and opposition to egalitarianism."

Didn't the Fascists also disarm the population? Let's try another search:

"Under Benito Mussolini's Fascist regime in Italy, gun control measures were tightened as part of the regime's effort to consolidate power and maintain control. Regulations became more stringent to disarm potential opposition and minimize resistance."

So, there you have it. Turns out Fascism and Communism are just two sides of the same coin. And neither side wants you to own guns.

If so, then the gun wielder must face the full consequence of the law ... actual or made up for the occasion. He might have injured the knifer.

He's a former Marine. I don't know what the laws are in MI, but I would think that being former military would be excusable. But then again, that might be too much common sense for some people.

A point of etiquette ... there is no such thing as a former Marine.

Hmmm. Michigan. It is possible, even probable, that if the attack happened in or near a blue city, that the local DA will look for some way to prosecute the gun carrier. Or persecute. Without regard to the danger presented by the knife wielder. Citing, amongst other reasons, that defunded police should have been called to respond within an hour or so, if at all.

Recently, during a Georgia home invasion, three yutes opened fire upon the occupant. He returned fire, killing all three. It is reported that the parents of at least one teen are suing for wrongful death. One parent has been recorded stating, that if the homeowner had not resisted, then her child would not have been killed. Just think, if the homeowner had not been armed, there would have only been one death.

Good point!
