Absolutely agree. I read The Shining and 11/22/63 because my wife 𝚍̶𝚎̶𝚖̶𝚊̶𝚗̶𝚍̶ requested it. I slammed the book shut after finishing the second and swore I would never pick up another one again.

I’ve enjoyed most of his books, though he’s recently wandered off into crazy left territory. But they aren’t what I’d call intellectual.
