If you have a prayer book, which one do you have and why?

I have two small prayer books, but I am looking at The Raccolta. It seems comprehensive and the 1957 printing is available.

Anyone have The Raccolta?

I don't. I don't even know what it is.

I have the Enchiridion. Close enough?

I'm not familiar with the book you mention. I know many people like The Pieta aka Little Blue prayer book. Personally, I like the Laudate app.

Not the Pieta either. I do have the Laudate app -- I find it comprehensive. And also a firehose that is difficult to use in many sections. HST, I found it invaluable when I offered a prayer for/with a dying person with no clergy available.

I do have:
Catholic Prayers: Compiled from Traditional Sources
Catholic Household Blessings and Prayers
Catholic Prayer Book
Novenas: Prayers of Intercession and Devotion
Christian Prayer: The Liturgy of the Hours

I assume that none of these are traditional books of prayer. Not being cradle, I thrashed around a bit leaning about the Church.

The Liturgy of the Hours is very much a traditional book.

The Enchiridion is a collection of indulgenced prayers and acts. It's been revised since 1968. The most important change regards the partial indulgences. In the past, certain prayers/acts carried an actual number of days. To whit: "A partial indulgence will henceforth be designated only with the words 'partial indulgence' without any determination of days or years."

It's well worth keeping handy.

Raccolta is the traditional one.
Enchiridion is the reformed (post-V2), current one.
