I put some things up for sale and very quickly got hit twice with "do you have Zelle or Venmo?" and "someone else will be by to pick it up, where do you live?". Makes my spidey sense tingle. After the second, I'm pretty sure it's a scam although I'm not sure how it works, other than home invasion.

I have NOT given out my address. First guy wanted to send his brother and friend to my house at 10 pm. I let him know up front that was causing me security concerns.

Yeah, I would never do this from my home address.

I've never encountered anyone on Facebook Marketplace who suggested anything other than a meeting in a public place.

I recently had someone inquire about shipping to Florida but whose profile strongly suggested lived in Slovenia

In the posting make it clear "CASH ONLY" and "pick up will be at the public library, at McDonald's on 5th street, in the police station parking lot..."

And a regular order of fries is in the purchase price.

I sold my motorcycle from home, my only option. I do like a different meeting place. Anyway, these two hits I got were bogus, they smelled bad and they went away. I thought later that I would tell them just to look for the house with the k-9 cruiser parked out front because my patrol doggie lives with me, but that is likely against the law. But it might deter the home invaders.
Yeah, I wouldn't do that.

They pay you, get the goods, then cancel the payment or contest it saying they never received the item.
