I'm so boring but I really love singing 'Silent Night'. It always makes it easy to imagine cradling Jesus in my arms singing Him to sleep.

Wow what a history! "From Starry Skies Descending" written by St Alphonsus Liguori.

If someone were to start a thread on most hated holiday songs - I won't call them Christmas songs - I'm prepared for that.

No way! That's a classic.
When I was a kid I was a bit irritated by "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" when it came on the wireless but I wouldn't say I 'hated' it.

Did you know that "All I Want for Christmas" can be sung to the tune of "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing"?

All songs written in common time are interchangable

Just googled it and that is so dark on so many levels.

Now I want the police to investigate Grandpa and Cousin Mel.

True, but Hark and All are in 7.7.7.7, which is a bit unusual. Common is 8.8.8.8.

It's true of all songs in common time, you can sing the Gilligan's Island theme song to the same tune, and you can do that with any two songs in common time

Well, since it appears I started something, I should weigh in. In no particular order:
The Chipmunks' Song (?) I don't know the name of any songs, but I'd like to throttle the guy who speeds up the tape recorder.
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus - Speaking of speeding up the tape recorder, is it possible that someone made Michael Jackson inhale helium to make his voice even higher?
Happy Christmas (War is Over) - I could tolerate the goopy hippy-dippy sentiment were it not for Yoko Ono joining in. I'm way past blaming her for breaking up the Beatles, but I blame Lennon for letting her near a live microphone.

My favorite is Hark the Herald Angels sing.
My favorite lines:
Hail the Incarnate Deity
Please as man with man to Dwell,
Jesus our Emmanual
