iTunes is demanding I re-purchase my entire library

Songs have started randomly disappearing from iTunes, one album I purchased years ago has 49 songs, now only 2 appear in my library, and it is telling me to re-purchase the album if I want access to the other 47 the only way is to buy them all over again. It is doing this for each of the more than 800 albums in my library. I refuse to spend thousands of dollars to re-purchase my entire library. I will not do it under any circumstances.

It started out splitting my albums up so that an album with 10 songs became 10 albums, and then when I tried to re-combine them, songs started disappearing, and then when I tried to re-download them, prices started appearing next to each song, indicating that I had never even purchased them. And when I tried to look it up, every article I read about the problem indicated that it is very common, but the cause is unknown and even though it has been going on since at least 2010, Apple has never addressed it or even officially acknowledged it. It just works, every time?

The only problem that I experienced is that I need to register my apple ID. Since I purchased them through a PC, logging into iTunes, I don't have an apple ID. I can still listen to, and download, my purchases, I just can't buy any more.

You must have an Apple ID because it is impossible to purchase anything from iTunes without one.

It changed several years ago. I purchased them on a PC laptop.

It doesn't matter where you purchased them, you have to have a payment method and an Apple ID to purchase anything. You even need an Apple ID just to download something free.

I purchased them with a credit card, and downloaded them to my computer, then saved them to a CD. No other ID.

To use a credit card, you need to set up a payment method, which requires creating an account. You may no longer remember your Apple ID, but there is no way you never had one at all. For one thing, you need an email address so that they can send you your receipt.
