Hi,
What's your opinion on the Hallow app? I've started using it this Lent and find it to be a fun and easy addition to some of my daily routines. For example, I enjoy listening to a hymn or a prayer when I have a few minutes off from work, or using it as a guide for my evening Examen.
Do anyone use it and what are your thoughts on it? Any tips or tricks?
/Joakim

I have a general policy of not downloading or using apps that require a monthly subscription. There were features that I was able to use without paying but after a couple of months it required me to create an account to use it any further.

Yes, I think that is their way of financing it.

I paid for it until this last annual renewal, but realized I do not use it enough to justify the price.

I canceled my subscription when they brought Liam Neeson on board. A lot of us questioned that move on their Facebook page, but fell on deaf ears.

What the hell is wrong with Liam Neeson?

Liam is a fine actor with a great voice, and he used those particular set of skills to help promote abortion in Ireland. Also to give honor and glory to the degenerate Alfred Kinsey!

Mark Wahlberg went to prison for a series of racist attacks including one that blinded a Vietnamese man. And he wasn't young either, this was when he was a famous pop star with the "Funky Bunch"

I believe Mark is rather public about living his faith now, evidence of repentance. Unless I'm missing something, is there such with Liam?

mrs. gherkin is doing something with hallow this Lent. She likes it. Granted the Liam Neeson thing is annoying, but I dunno if it undermines the whole thing. Anyway, mrs. gherkin doesn't think so. I expect very little of celebrities and usually don't care much about what they do in their private lives, but I don't like Mark Wahlberg's stuff irrespective of what he's like in real life, and Liam Neeson is definitely way over on the dark side. Fortunately, I don't think I've been tempted to watch any of his movies since the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Ok, actually I watched the other two Narnia movies on dvd, but they were awful with or without him.

Perhaps they will have President Biden on the app next, or Nancy Pelosi, both are "Practicing Catholics."
I love his movies, but I cringe at him leading anyone in the faith.

Yeah, I think it was a poor decision.
