Where does this quote come from?:

Take care of your body as if you will live forever, and take care of your soul as if you will die tomorrow.

As usual it was attributed to Augustine. I know that he wrote volumes of material, but the poor guy gets credited with just about everything.

Quotation Investigator came up empty.

I couldn't find it either, after an extensive search, and it doesn't sound like him to me.

I saw a nearly identical quote attributed to St. Augustine on Instagram recently. It was posted by heroic_catholic. I even snapped a screen capture of it (dated 11 May 2024).
