8/15 HDO Feast of the Assumption

Post by zeno »

Just a little PSA type reminder. It almost slipped away from me this year!
Thank you for your patience as I build the board. I have about 1/16 to go.

Yes went this morning but the number at Mass is half of who come on Ash Wednesday which is not a HDO.

Good attendance where I went today but it was a noon Mass in a business area so lots of people on their lunch breaks.

The only Mass is at 7:30 AM when everyone except the retired is at work, so no.
If you ever feel like Captain Picard yelling about how many lights there are, it is probably time to leave the thread.

I have never quite grasped why this is, but it's a universal.

We have a new priest and he's done something that no previous priest has done (since I've been a member at this parish)... he sent out a text message to all parishioners reminding them it's a Holy Day and that we must attend. I really liked it. I would have forgotten and then confessed it, not this time though.

Well sure but when the only option is to call into work because the only Mass is at 7:30AM, the reminder rings pretty hollow

We had an 8am and a 7pm option.

And for me at least, I made it because the text reminded me.
