Investments aligning with values

Post by MySweetLord »

Not sure if I've ever brought this subject up in the past. ***Please note that I'm not asking for specific investment advice, unless you care to share opinions.***

I'm planning to move investments from my 401(k) into funds that align better with Catholic values, as best as one can do. The individual who manages our plan, although Catholic and understanding, has been giving me resistance on this. Thankfully, my boss has my back.

I proposed Ave Maria Funds. He pushed back about "expense drag" and such. I asked him for alternatives, and he hasn't provided any.

Anyone here been sorry about such a move? There are only so many "Catholic friendly" options, and I'm open to suggestions (yes, I'll do the homework). My husband and I are in our early 60's, so I'm not looking for big returns like I would have in my 40's.

Thanks to any who care to comment.

This is a really good question, and I hope someone with the expertise in this area will post a response. Meanwhile, I think you may look into what the Knights of Columbus may have to offer.
