I'll admit I have no idea what the New International Commentary on the New Testament is, I've never heard of it, but I saw on ad online and it sounded like it could be interesting so I clicked on it.

It was published in April 1974 (just shy of 50 years) and yet even the e-book is barely less expensive than the hardcover. For a 50-year-old book that is largely mostly out of date as far as scholarship is concerned.
I understand the price is set by the publisher, not Amazon, but what do you say about publishers who are this delusional in thinking that one volume of what is probably at least a 27-volume commentary series that is 50 years old, is worth $41 on Kindle? Do they actually expect to sell this at this price?
Ridiculous!
Ridiculous!
If you ever feel like Captain Picard yelling about how many lights there are, it is probably time to leave the thread.
Re: Ridiculous!
Looking up what I can about this series, it seems like it was intended to be an evangelical answer of sorts to the more liberal Anchor Bible Commentary
The first volume was published in 1959 (3 years after the publication of the first volume of the Anchor series) and it is still unfinished, the most recent volume was published in 2018. There is also a (still incomplete) Old Testament series.
