Your place in the family

Post by Stella »

A question recently prompted me to think about my place in the family. I'm the oldest of 4. I never even considered my duty to my siblings until my 40's when I went through the mid life 'storm'. That's when one of my considerations was how my decisions would impact the decisions of my siblings. Thanks be to God, I chose the route I did.

How do others feel about their place in the family?

Oldest of 4, we are all fully capable adults now, so my decisions have no impact on my siblings (aside from emotional impact if one of us does something terrible).
Trophy Dwarf, remember??

I am a middle child, and therefore neither bossy nor spoiled.

That's the worst of all possible worlds!
If you ever feel like Captain Picard yelling about how many lights there are, it is probably time to leave the thread.

At some point I recognised how much influence I still wield with my siblings. I think its my super power which I try to always use for the good!

I'm the youngest of three sisters.

Edit: Well, I grew up the youngest of three, but my eldest sister died about a decade ago.

If you have sisters, you're the one being bossed, no matter what their order.

I was the middle, now I'm the youngest. My older brother is special needs, so I take care of him. There is nobody else.
