Prayers for sleep

Post by Kage_ar »

Lifelong and medically diagnosed insomniac, for the past decade or so a combination of strict sleep hygiene and medications have given me sleep!

A few months ago, this changed. My little dog has slept on our bed since my late husband rescued her. Suddenly, she began waking up in the night wanting to go out to pee. Now, it is between 2 and 6 times per night. She has been given a clean bill of physical health. Crating her at night means constant barking. Have tried different feeding schedules, our nightime routine has not changed - she is the one telling me time for bed if I try to stay up late, she has an internal schedule that is set in stone.

This has now reached the point where I am sleeping through my morning alarm, going to work when I am so sleep deprived that I feel it is dangerous to drive. Had the dog boarded for a night so I could sleep, I slept 16 hours straight without even waking up for a bathroom visit!

The dog sleeps all day while my son and I are at work, she does not mess in the house at all.

Anyway, please pray that she starts sleeping through the night again!

Frequent urination (in humans, at least) can be due to an acidic bladder. Often a teaspoon of baking powder in a glass of water before bedtime will bring results. Try it with the dog!
