"The Book" Bible Translation (?)

Post by Kage_ar »

Went to one of those "dig in the bins of Amazon returns" stores. Spent a lot of my digging in the book bin.

Saw this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/305595581249

The neon green faux leather cover is even brighter than it appears in the photo.

For $2, I picked it up. Not finding much online about this one. Nigel Dixon from UK appears to be the translator?

The books are in an odd order, the "translation" is odd.

Any of ya'll know about this one?

The only thing that keeps coming up is The Book NLT. So I gather that it is a new or updated version of The Living Translation

I found those, this is not at all the same. The Ebay listing has some pics of the layout of the books, as well as some of the text.

I thought I heard of every Bible translation, but this one is obscure. What is the copyright date?

Well, I'm stumped, the only thing I can find is the EBay link you posted

It is enough to make me think this might be the only copy

I even tried looking up "Nigel Dixon" and found a singer, a basketball player, a grocery store magnate, and a politician in the UK by that name, but nothing about a translation.

And Doom, I thought of you and your vast knowledge of translations when I picked this up. After I read it, do you want me to send it to you?

I have so many that I have never read yet, which I believe are of great quality, such as the Revised English Version 1989, so I don't know if I want a weird, bad one just so I can have it.
