.... until I spun off the interstate back in January of 2024.
I live in Wisconsin and am well accustomed to driving in snowy, sloppy conditions. But January of 2024, late at night, I was heading back home on an interstate after visiting some friends up in my hometown. The roads were not even all that bad.
Crossing from the left lane to the right, after accommodating an officer of the law who had someone pulled over, I just started to lose it and spin. It was my car and another right in front of me. I thankfully missed that car as well as the mile marker on the side of the road. My car went off the road and started sliding. I eventually ended up about 25 feet away from the interstate, facing it perpendicularly.
After calling for help I got out of the car to look around. Less than 3 feet behind my car was a little stream. But big and deep enough to have caused big problems for my car. I missed the car, the mile marker, and the stream. A snowy night facing the interstate looking up a bit of an incline. I found myself pretty thankful.
Then came a road trip to Tennessee 3 months later and I was having some of the weirdest sensations. Like feelings of unreality. Also, my body was just tense. I compare it to walking on a narrow high-beam far from the ground. Your body automatically having you rear this way and then that in hopes of stabilizing yourself. Not the kind of automatic sensation you want when driving your family somewhere at a great distance away.
Well... the kids' spring break is upon us again and my wife and children have decided to go to Georgia. For me, that's even further away from Tennessee. She knows of my issues and said she would be willing to drive. But still...
Any prayers for a safe trip would be greatly appreciated.
As well as prayers for a "factory setting reset" with respects to my newfound 'excitement' while driving.
I never had a problem driving...

Thank you for your patience as I build the board. I have about 1/16 to go.

Re: I never had a problem driving...

I've always had an irrational fear of driving.
