Some parishes do, I've been to several

Probably referring to the old confessional "box". Haven't been in exclusive use since the end of Vat II.

I take it to mean traditional confessionals, as you see in Hollywood movies, even though they are virtually extinct. Just as you always see nuns in full habit, even though those are also pretty close to extinct.

Perhaps with a fixed grate and kneeler, maybe a sliding door so the priest can hear confessions from either side? As opposed to a "reconciliation room"
