The 2023 MLB thread
F/S's [s]Trash Cans[/s] Astros got a no-no tonight.
I would also like to file a protest that the strike-through isn't available.

Re: The 2023 MLB thread
and we were absolutely lambasted by the pink hose yesterday.... wonder if that is the largest run differential all time?
saw a headline that dusty threw france and diaz under the bus for some reason... didn't read it yet, but that doesn't sound like him.... sure hope we can right the ship visiting the striped cats this weekend before we have our rematch with the pink hose.... oh well, at least the rangers' skid continued thanks to the twinkies.... that's 7 straight while we were getting swept by the mariners and dropping 2 of the 3 to the lowly bosox.... sure missed an excellent opportunity to take over first again

The record differential is 27, in the legendary Rangers-Orioles 30-3 game.

Re: The 2023 MLB thread
that's a big differential
and it sounds like a football drubbing but i was talking about the astro's biggest run differential
and pressly just blew the save in a 1-0 game.... it's possible on review that the tigers no hit us tonight if they finish it in the bottom of the 9th.... first two struck out looking, then 3 straight hits tie the game

Re: The 2023 MLB thread
Baseball Reference says it's tied for the worst Astros loss ever, though they don't give the details on the original.
Re: The 2023 MLB thread
The Yankees are having their worst season since 1982. Recently they lost a 3-game series against the Red Sox in which they scored a total of 5 runs over the entire series, and 4 of them were solo home runs by Aaron Judge. That is just downright awful. They also had a game where they committed more errors (2) than they scored runs (1). This is a disaster. This makes me so happy.

If you ever feel like Captain Picard yelling about how many lights there are, it is probably time to leave the thread.

Re: The 2023 MLB thread
for those that don't follow sportcenter, i just have to mention jose altuve's accomplishments over the last 2 games... in the 9th inning on monday, he hit a home run, giving him a multi homer game... his first 3 at bats last night were also home runs giving him 4 in as many plate appearances, and a total of 5 in his last 6 plate appearances
this article on the espn website details where his accomplishment ranks all time... it's kind of special when you're one of 3 or one of 4 all time to accomplish something

Re: The 2023 MLB thread
Congratulations to Adam Wainwright for getting win #200. It wasn’t a cheap win—he pitched seven shutout innings in a 1-0 game.
Re: The 2023 MLB thread
we have finally arrived at my favorite time of the year... and no it is not college football...
and yes it is definitely the MLB playoff season!!!! I do hope we start our ws defense in a proper way... an opening series sweep would certainly be acceptable and 6 playoff wins in a row has a nice ring to it, does it not?

Diamondbacks?
Re: The 2023 MLB thread
Most definitely!!!!!! anytime you can present kershaw with a six spot for a third of an inning pitched,
more power to you...and gave me another chuckle when I saw what that gave him for an era , thanks to his "effort".... or lack thereof
I have been a blue blood hater longer than I have been an astro.fan
k more me
