100 days of Dante

Post by zeno »

Starting up again tomorrow...1 Canto + a short (10 minutes) lecture a day. Not all the presenters are Catholic and there are one or two I didn't care for (you'll know them when you see them :-D ) but all in all I really enjoyed the journey. I read Esolen's translation, and it appears they are now providing that on the website as well. 100daysofdante.com Highly recommended.
Thank you for your patience as I build the board. I have about 1/16 to go.

I signed up.

I hope they include the legendary Lost Canto about the iceberg.

I think I may give it another go too. Did you know The Thinker (like alot of Rodin's work) was inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy? I just learned that recently. His Gates of Hell is incredible. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gates_of_Hell
