1 Samuel 18:6-9; 19:1-7
“Saul discussed his intention to kill David with his son Jonathan and with all his servants.”

It’s a shame when someone doesn’t think things through and wants to control those around them instead of revealing the beauty of God in people.

Lord, thank you for your beauty in every person.

Mark 3:7-12
“Jesus withdrew (from the crowd) toward the sea with his disciples. A large number of people [followed] from Galilee and from Judea.”

It’s wonderful to see that people want to be with Jesus.

1 Samuel 24:3-21
David cries out to Saul, “Why do you listen to those who say, ‘David is trying to harm you’?”

There are people who incite others against others. This evil could be avoided through mutual support and a desire to advance the cause of God’s love.

Mark 3:13-19
“Jesus appointed twelve [whom he also named apostles] that they might be with him and he might send them forth to preach and to have authority to drive out demons.”

The twelve appointed by Jesus have the mission of proclaiming the Good News: God is love. This love, when received by people, “drives out demons.”

2 Samuel 1:1-4, 11-12, 19, 23-27
David, speaking of Jonathan: “Jonathan my brother! Most dear have you been to me.”

The story of Jonathan and David is truly wonderful. But there is an even greater wonder: discovering the simple joy of God’s love within us.

Mark 3:20-21
When his relatives heard of this they set out to seize him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”

When people fail to recognize the grace in someone’s heart, in this case, Jesus’ heart, they close themselves off to his work of peace.

Isaiah 8:23b – 9:3
“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.”

When the people sees “a great light,” they stand with the Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:10-13, 17
“I belong to Christ.”

Yes, the people can be interesting, but it is necessary to always return to Christ, to the present moment, to the Love of God.

Matthew 4:12-23
“Jesus cured every disease and illness among the people.”

Every person who welcomes the Love of God within themselves allows themselves many healings of the heart.

2 Timothy 1:1-8
Paul says of Timothy, “I am grateful to God.”

Gratitude rises from the heart when a person sees the beauty of God in hearts.

Titus 1:1-5
Paul says to Titus, “Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our savior.”

God gives you grace and peace, and it is visible within you.

Mark 3:22-30
The scribes who had come from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul.”

This contrasts with the kind words Jesus speaks of his friends, because he sees the beauty of God in them.

The scribes here are not reflecting on the beauty of God in Jesus. The less they see it, the more they close themselves off from Jesus.

2 Samuel 6:12b-15, 17-19
“David went to bring up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the City of David with joy.”

God walks with the people.

Mark 3:31-35
“Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”

God’s will is to receive his peace and to encourage it in the people.

2 Samuel 7:4-17
“The Lord declares to you that the Lord will make a house for you.”

The Lord’s house is his Heart; it is his kingdom. And his Heart is filled with Love.

Mark 4:1-20
“Those sown on rich soil are the ones who hear the word.”

The seed is the Love, joy, and peace of God. The good soil is the person who receives God’s Love. God’s Love contains the fruits of the Spirit.

2 Samuel 7:18-19, 24-29
David said, “You, Lord God, are truly God.”

Simply realizing this and welcoming God’s love into our lives has given us new life.

Mark 4:21-25
“The measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.”

The words and gestures we share with others are very often the same words and gestures we use with ourselves.

2 Samuel 11:1-4a, 5-10a, 13-17
Sometimes, people like David are ingenious at getting rid of those who get in their way.

By discovering God’s love in people instead, bad intentions would occur less often.

Mark 4:26-34
“This is how it is with the kingdom of God; it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land and would sleep and rise night and day and the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how.”

The human being who welcomes God into their heart (their soil) is made fruitful by Love every second.

2 Samuel 12:1-7a, 10-17
Nathan reminds David of the evil he has done. And David has concealed the evil within himself. David brings about his own fate. He has done evil, and his evil pursues him.

Mark 4:35-41
Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a cushion. They woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”

The apostles’ reaction is remarkable. They turn to Jesus. They are aware of God’s presence with them.

Zephaniah 2:3; 3:12-13
“They shall pasture and lie down.”

Those who live with the Lord abide in peace and are nourished by God’s grace.

1 Corinthians 1:26-31
“It is due to God that you are in Christ Jesus.”

God’s grace allows us to be in Christ and in God’s love.

Matthew 5:1-12a
“Jesus began to teach them.”

When we listen to the Trinity, to the Holy Spirit, in our hearts, the wisdom of Love unlocks, heals, and purifies, and then it becomes easier to hear the teaching God has for us.

Malachi 3:1-4
“The Lord whom you seek will come to his temple.”

The Temple of God is within himself; he is his own house.

Hebrews 2:14-18

Jesus came to “expiate the sins of the people.”

The love of God in Jesus liberates every person who welcomes him.

Luke 2:22-40
Jesus is “a light for revelation to the Gentiles.”

… a light to all nations.

2 Samuel 18:9-10, 14b, 24-25a, 30-19:4
David loses his son Absalom. It is painful to lose a loved one. Then, David entrusted himself to the Lord and continued his mission on earth.

Mark 5:21-43
Jesus said, “Little girl, I say to you, arise!”

God is life. He lifts in Spirit every person who trusts in Him.
